The presence of the concept of human dignity at a broad range of legal documents has been increasing world-widely and it seems to be a fundamental concept in the democratic societies. The paper tends to introduce the meaning of human dignity not only as a legal concept but as the common ground of democracy as well. It represents a foundation of stabilised, well-functioning democratic system, for mutual relations within democratic society and as well as for self-realization of the each individual as a part of democratic society at the same point.

Utilisation of these tools can lead to increased level of trust in key political institutions. Furthermore, certain e-participative tools are designed to increase political competence of the citizenry, enabling them to make more informed political choices.

COBISS.SI-ID: 20262962The paper is exploring the impacts of different dimensions of (good) governance that practically overlap with possibly clashing concepts in the democracy support, on democracy. The results of the quantitative research reveal that there are no significant casual relations between peace, security and stateness and democracy. However there is a significant impact of the rule of law, as well as sustainable development on democracy. Consequently the paper concludes that donors should definitely rethink the possibilities of prioritizing the rule of law and sustainable development when it comes to their democratization efforts.
