The paper is exploring the impacts of different dimensions of (good) governance that practically overlap with possibly clashing concepts in the democracy support, on democracy. The results of the quantitative research reveal that there are no significant casual relations between peace, security and stateness and democracy. However there is a significant impact of the rule of law, as well as sustainable development on democracy. Consequently the paper concludes that donors should definitely rethink the possibilities of prioritizing the rule of law and sustainable development when it comes to their democratization efforts.
