The Istro-Venetian Linguistic Atlas includes 18 research sites: three referential research locations, two cakavian and one Istro-Slovenian (Nova vas), were added to the 15 Istro-Venetian locations. The questionnaire was modeled after various published linguistic atlases of Romanian and Slavic idioms. There are 1898 questions that are divided into 14 semantic groups and 12 subcategories, which cover almost every important aspect of everyday life in a linguistic community. The authors of the questionnaire considered all the characteristics of the area. The answers were transcribed with a specifically created graphic system that was used for every vernacular.

The monograph, entitled Slovenska Istra med politiko sožitja in priseljeništvom (The Slovenian Istria between a Policy of Coexistence and the Immigration Issue), was written based on data obtained from the European Lifelong Learning project MERIDIUM Multilingualism in Europe as a Resource for Immigration – Dialogue Initiative among the Universities of Mediterranean. The subject of our studies and research is focused on a narrower spectrum of the regulation of immigrants’ rights, i.e. the integration of children of immigrants in the Slovenian educational system.
