In a lecture at the annual meeting of the beekeepers from Styria were presented results of genetic analyzes in the population of the Carniolan bee. Particular emphasis has been put on the genetic variability of mitochondrial haplotypes and different interpretation of results in different time periods. The lecture also included a review of genomic methods that are increasingly available for selection work in beekeeping.
