TERMIS, The terminological database for the field of public relations contains 2000 terms with definitions, translations in English, typical collocations and examples. Each entry is linked with the KoRP corpus and Gigafida corpus. The database is freely accessible at http://www.termania.net.
F.06 Development of a new product
The paper describes Termania, a free dictionary portal with a search engine and an online dictionary editor. Termania is designed to become a central exchange place for terminological and other lexicographic data for Slovene and subsequently for other languages. The portal is aimed at general web users and thus the primary goal of its design is user-friendliness which on the other hand does not prevent the implementation of more advanced features such as editorial management system, the use of language technologies for language data extraction from text corpora and similar.

COBISS.SI-ID: 26419239Good Dictionary Examples or GDEX is a tool in the Sketch Engine designed to help lexicographers with identifying dictionary examples by ranking sentences according to how likely they are to be good candidates. The ranking is done automatically using various syntactic and lexical features. So far, only GDEX for English has been available. This paper presents the design and evaluation of Slovene GDEX, which was used for finding good examples for the new lexical database of Slovene, one of the activities in the Communication in Slovene project. Several different GDEX configurations were designed, evaluated and compared. The evaluation involved examining sentences of lemmas belonging to different word classes. Good sentences were logged for subsequent analysis with external data-mining software, WEKA. The observed behaviour was then used to adjust the parameters of the GDEX classifiers. We believe that the procedure of identifying features of good examples and their values, described in this paper, can be used for the development of GDEX for any language.

COBISS.SI-ID: 33351981Word sketches are one-page automatic, corpus-based summaries of a word's grammatical and collocational behaviour. They were first used in the production of the Macmillan English Dictionary (Rundell 2002). At that point, they only existed for English. For sevedal years the Sketch Engine has been available, a corpus tool which takes as input a corpus of any language and corresponding grammar patterns and which generates word sketches for the words of that language. It also automatically generates a thesaurus and 'sketch differences', which specify similarities and differences between near-synonyms. A new Slovene sketch grammar was developed as it is shown in the presentation, which significantly facilitates lexicographic work in Slovene.
