Latin-teaching set, originally published by the Yale University, is intended for beginners and is considered to be among the best available worldwide; its chief quality are its clear explanations and its modern didactic approach, which it now introduces to Slovenian schools. It makes a point of focusing on passages from original Roman texts, thus making its readers acquainted with the classical tradition as well as with the Latin grammar, introducing authors such as Plautus, Terence, Caesar, Cicero, Livy, Catullus, Vergil, Horace, Ovid, and others. The Slovenian adaptation is intended for the students in the upper-level high-schools and in the introductory courses at the university, as well as for self-study programmes.

COBISS.SI-ID: 255206144The exercises in the workbook, complementing the Latin textbook, can be used in three ways; for reinforcing the new material in class, for studying independently, and for supplementary sessions. For this reason, there are more exercises available than can ever be finished in class; this offers several possibilities for the individualisation of teaching. Some of the exercises concentrate on the Slovenian grammar; and there are additional exercises recapitulating the new material at the end of each chapter.
