The Gorenjsko dialect is an important part of Slovenian national non-material cultural heritage, which is rapidly changing because of the changes in social circumstances. The speakers have to adapt themselves to new circumstances with their language/speech, too. In the article the basic characteristics of Gorenjska dialect are presented with phonological transcription. The differencies between most distinctive local speeches are presented on a linguistic map.

The first part presents the general phonological characteristics of speech, and the second part, morphological characteristics, i.e. morphology of nouns, adjectives and verbs. The material is also compared with neighbouring dialects.

COBISS.SI-ID: 33164333In the paper actual situation in Slovenian geolinguistics is presented – the main attention is focused on preparative arrangements for the first volume of Slovene linguistic atlas (SLA), which has been published in 2011. Morphonological analysis and geolinguistical presentation of dialectal lexics is presented with words for the notions ‛pinch’ and ‛handful’. The contemporary Slovenian dialectal lexems are compared with the lexems in older Slovenian texts from Trubar untill today.
