The invention solves the technical problem of how to realize peristaltic micropump with a single piezoelectric actuator and thus compatible with single-phase driver, while maintaining all the benefits of currently available peristaltic micropumps (simple design and fabrication, low cost, purity and reliability). The absence of valves and low operating frequency (typically around 100 Hz) prevent high fluid velocities and inhibit cavitation. Micropump according to the invention is self-priming and bubble tolerant.

COBISS.SI-ID: 10460756Piezoelectric Microcylinder Pump The invention solves micropump technical problem of how to ensure maximum flow-rate and back-pressure performance as well as maximum reliability and long-term stability at small device dimensions. Innovative central cylinder valve positioned at membrane maximum deformation point enables realization of large micropump chamber which improves flow-rate and back-pressure performance considerably. Moreover, innovation increases system compression ratio which results in micropump self-priming and bubble tolerance capability.
