D.02 Establishment of a research centre, laboratory, study course, association
Department of Neurology, with Head Professor Zvezdan Pirtošek, PhD, organized a programme entitled School of Neuroscience, which lasts for 5 days in a week. In a set of interactive lectures and workshops, distinguished Slovenian researchers where explaining the working of the brain to the lay public. Among the lectures were a review of the history of the studying of the brain and presentations on some of the methods of studying the function of the brain, e.g. functional magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography and transcranial magnetic stimulation. The purpose of School of Neuroscience is to present the working of the brain in an accessible way to the public.

Centre for Cognitive Impairments, Department of Neurology, oranised the School of Neurology with the Organising Committee Assiss. Prof. Milica Gregorič Kramberger, MD, Prof. Zvezdan Pirtošek, MD, Ass Prof Maja Trošt, MD, Anka Žekš, MA, and Nina Zupančič Križnar, MD in June 2011 on the topic of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Centre for Extrapyramidal Disorders, Department of Neurology, organised the School of Neurology with the Organising Committee Ass Prof Maja Trošt, MD, Prof. Zvezdan Pirtošek, MD, Assiss. Prof. Milica Gregorič Kramberger, MD, Anka Žekš, MA, and Nina Zupančič Križnar, MD in September 2011 on the topic of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. During both days, various lectures were held on the topics for registrars in the field of neurology, psychiatry and other fields, general practitioners and other healthcare workers.
