A method for 4G node frequency selection describes a mechanism for automatically selecting the frequency of a newly installed base station, thereby optimizing the throughput per area unit of the newly installed base station in its predefined vicinity area, thus directly improving the quality of experience for mobile and nomadic users. The method is based on an iterative calculation approach, which combines real world network and base station measurements information ith the nominal specifications of the newly installed base station (antenna diagram, output power) and the location and direction thereof.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9627732A method for cognitive neighbor selection in 4G networks describes a mechanism for automatic self-learning selection of neighboring base stations for the purpose of providing seamless handoffs in a dense deployment of pico and macro base stations, thus directly improving the quality of experience for mobile and nomadic users. When a 4G network is modified by adding new base stations, the optimum hand-off thresholds and advertised base station neighbors are automatically recalculated in a manner that reduces the number of unnecessary hand-offs in a dense network with large number of pico and macro base stations.

COBISS.SI-ID: 9172052Broadband infrastructure is an important growth driver of the economy. Research has shown that 10% growth in broadband Internet access means 1 % increase in gross domestic product of a country. Fixed and mobile broadband networks are vital for the continuing development of companies and countries. In this presentation we analyze the broader topic of broadband networks and methods of their quality measurement. LTFE QoE measurement system is presented, which is designed for the needs of large-scale measurement of the quality of the user experience. The solution is suitable for measuring QoE of fixed and mobile Internet, covering a wide range of parameters and providing insight into the availability, responsiveness and speed of the fixed or mobile Internet access.
