From 26 to 29 November we organized in cooperation with IAEA a workshop with the title »Workshop on Assessment of Groundwater Resources Affected by Rivers in Danube Basin«, which was attended by 20 foreign and Slovenian researchers. The main topic was the presentation of results within the IAEA project RER8016/9002/01. The investigations comprised the basins of the Danube and the Sava (as one of the main tributaries of the Danube). The use of stable isotopes O,H,N and S, and the results of methods used to determine water age 3H, 3H/3He in 14C were presented.

COBISS.SI-ID: 26327079On the basis of the chemical and isotope analyses and tracing experiments performed, we acquired very extensive view into the hydrogeological and hydrochemical processes occurring in the both aquifers of the research area. Many new data regarding aquifer’s recharge areas, groundwater retention time, age and velocity, natural chemical composition and pollution state of groundwater were obtained. Synthesis of all the data enabled us to improve and validate the conceptual models of Ljubljansko polje and Ljubljansko Barje aquifers.
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 2099541Isotopic and hydrochemical investigations of drinking water resources have been performed on the area of aquifers Apaško polje and Prekmurje. The researched water resources will be utilized in the new regional water supply system of Prekmurje.
