T.G. Bulc was leading Eureka E!5007 project with acronym FISH-CWUS (2009-2012) with the aim to develop new innovative technology for fish farm wastewater treatment. In the frame of the project presented new process control instrument to integrate and optimize two physical water treatment technology units: vertical constructed wetland and ultrasound was developed. The resulting integrated technology combines the economic and ecological advantages of all the individual units to achieve targeted application in specific water qualities without the use of chemicals. Recirculation aquaculture systems without chemicals are new solutions also for other sensitive water treatment systems where chemicals are an unsatisfying solution like groundwater recharge, remediation of natural lakes, irrigation etc.
