Patent includes a design of cavitation generator used for water treatment specifically pharmaceuticals, bacteria and algae removal. Experimental assessment of the machine shows a highly efficient removal of unwanted substances. This implies to the possibility of a commercial application, what is also a reason behind a patent application.

Aleksandra Krivograd Klemenčič was leading two year AOP4Water project financed from the Era net Cornet programe with the aim to test different combinations of advance oxidation processes (AOPs) to enable cost-efficient reuse of AOP-treated effluents from textile, paper and food industries and municipal wastewater in production processes of textile and paper industries. Among different AOPs also hydrodinamic cavitation was tested. The key to wastewater reuse lies in increasing the efficiency of AOP treatment that ensures the required water quality and decreasing operational costs.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4572779T.G. Bulc was leading Eureka E!5007 project with acronym FISH-CWUS (2009-2012) with the aim to develop new innovative technology for fish farm wastewater treatment. In the frame of the project presented new process control instrument to integrate and optimize two physical water treatment technology units: vertical constructed wetland and ultrasound was developed. The resulting integrated technology combines the economic and ecological advantages of all the individual units to achieve targeted application in specific water qualities without the use of chemicals. Recirculation aquaculture systems without chemicals are new solutions also for other sensitive water treatment systems where chemicals are an unsatisfying solution like groundwater recharge, remediation of natural lakes, irrigation etc.
