The novel derivatives of pyridylethanol (phenylethyl) amines of formula I are described wherein n is an integer from 1 to 4, R1 is a hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group or lower C16 alkoxy group R2 is a hydrogen atom or a straight or branched lower C16 alkyl group X, is hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine, bromine, hydroxyl group, trifluoromethyl group, 3,4diCI, 2,4diCI or lower C16 alkoxy group, the enantiomers, diastereoisomers or racemates thereof or the physiologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof which are ligands of sigma receptors for inhibiting cholesterol biosynthesis and are thus appropriate for the treatment of hypercholesterolemia and hyperlipemia in humans. The greatest lowering of cholesterol was observed by 1( dpyridyl)2(N(2( 3,4 dicholorophenyl) ethylNpropylamino) ethanol in the form of dihydrobromide salt (signature BK35. 2HBr).

COBISS.SI-ID: 3246671The vision of ELIXIR (http://www.elixireurope.org/page.php), The European Infrastructure for Life Sciences and Biological Inormations within ESFRI (European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures) is construction and maintenance of sustainable infrastructurefor biological information in Europe, to support life sciences research and their translation in medicine and environment, in bioindustry and in general into society. ELIXIR, where Slovenia participates after signing“Memorandum of Understanding” , is a transnational network of biological informations, that will be coordinated at the European level, complementary to activities and priorities at individual countries. Within ELIXIR data will be collected and tools and services for various data intgration from different resources will be available, together with user trainings. Center for Functional Genomics and Biochips composed of members of the Slovenian consortium and headed by D. Rozman, reppresents the Slovenian ELIXIR node, According the the Plan of Development of Research Infrastructure 2011 2020. In 2012 the Govermnet of the Republic Slovenia named D. Rozman the Slovene representative of the Board of ELIXIR.
