The author highlighted status and role that socialist industrial heritage occupies in societies of the former Yugoslavia. She also discussed reasons for difficulties that emerge in attempts to interpret socialist industrialization as cultural heritage. Particular attention was paid to semi-public and private museum practices that emerge within communities which perceive industrialization as constitutive part of their cultural heritage.
