International interdisciplinary symposium addressed the question of the role and the place of women migrants and migration in the historical constitution of national communities of Europe. The goal of the symposium was to provide a transhistoric, interdisciplinary and comparative insight into public remembering of migrant women into the European nations’ cultural repertoires of collective identification; and the processes of popular mythologization as well as institutional amnesia as concerns their public visibility. The symposium hosted three renowned researcher from abroad and a well known slovenain film producer Maja Weiss. It was visited by around 70 guest visitors, and a collection of abstracts was published.
