All members of the project group teach in the Graduate School of the Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, in the Comparative Studies of Ideas and Cultures programme, module philosophy. Jelica Šumič Riha is head of the programme. In their lectures, they present the results of their own research work and discuss other philosophical currents and findings. Their research and pedagogical work are thus connected into a sensible whole.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36147501Marina Gržinić Mauhler is full professor in the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (2003-2014). In her lectures she combines the discussion of art with contemporary theory in their relation with biopolitics. Her special focus is on the connections between biopolitics and politics of representation, and on analysis of the processes of becoming human in the procedures of aesthetic abstraction and artistic formalization in culture and theory.

Since 2009, Alenka Zupančič Žerdin has been a visiting professor at the prestigious European Graduate School based in Switzerland. The lecturers include some of the most distinguished theorists of our time, e.g. Giorgio Agamben, Alain Badiou, Jean Baudrillard, Judith Butler, Boris Groys, Manuel De Landa, and Jean-Luc Nancy.

The organizer of the XIXth International Congress for Aesthetics (Krakow, July 2013) has invited Aleš Erjavec to organize and chair at the congress the panel “Aesthetics and Politics.” He invited to the panel Gabriela Switek (Warsaw), Tyrus Miller (Santa Cruz), and Miško Šuvaković (Belgrade). The presentation of the papers was followed by a lively discussion among the invited speakers and the audience and concerned the interpretations of the theme of the panel as conceived by Jacques Rancière, The participants highlighted the changed status of Rancière’s central concepts.
