COBISS.SI-ID: 35629357In 2012, Luka Vidmar launched a successful initiative to change the inaccurate inscription on the Memorial Plaque laid in the pavement in front of the Ljubljana Town Hall. The initiative, signed by 22 scholars of different arts and humanities disciplines (five of them being members of the project group), was addressed to the City Municipality of Ljubljana, which eleven years before commissioned the Plaque to inform passersby of the Counter-Reformation burnings of Protestant books. The initiative was based on Luka Vidmar's thorough analysis of primary historical sources; its results were published in »Kronika«, in the article »The Two Burnings of Protestant Books in Ljubljana in 1600–1601« (Kronika, 61/2 2013). On the basis of Vidmar's analysis a new, more accurate inscription was suggested.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36567597The erection of two new memorial plaques in Krško has been due to Boris Golec's monograph dealing with the question of where the renowned polymath J. V.Valvasor spent his last years. Golec's detailed research showed that the house traditionally believed to be Valvasor's did not belong to him and that the the plaque dating from 1894 was therefore in the wrong place. Valvasor's last home proved to be a house in »Cesta krških borcev«, the so-called Mencinger's house, which played a significant role in the cultural history of the town. At the solemn opening of the plaques (one with the new inscription and one completely new) on March 5, 2013 Boris Golec also delivered a speech. The event is documented in the above mentioned monograph, i. e. »Two Valvasor's Houses in Krško – the Right One and the Wrong One«.
