Kohlenbergwerks Leše was in the period of 1835 to 1856 the biggest and most important coalmine in Slovene tarrtory. It was the energy source for ironworks in Prevalje, also techonologically the most advanced company in the 1840s in Slovenia. The interreations of both comanies is discussed and the author also discuss the socila impact of coalmining in Leše.
