COBISS.SI-ID: 2415447In the last two decades the original Slovenian approach in programs for educationally disadvantaged adults has gradually developed. For the empowerment of individuals from vulnerable groups good basic literacy is the most important, however, it should be seen and understood in correlation with a person's life, and his/her wishes and needs. Change in the educational experience of adults on the basis of practices is seen as one of the main routes out of the vicious circle, at the same time it is a precondition for achieving the intended effects of programs. Eight core competencies are central to the model. The selection and modification of these eight competencies result from twenty years of experience of Slovenian experts with the programs.

COBISS.SI-ID: 1504358Didactic materials (on CD) are designed as a teaching tool for the learning of educationally disadvantaged adults. The central content is a core competence of initiative and entrepreneurship. Authentic stories address individuals in different life stages. Successful experience tries to motivate inactive adults so that they can develop emotional empathy with the characters in the story. A listener is appropriately guided through the materials by the moderator, who explains the topics and the goal of the materials.
