The lecture summarized the history of research activities of Slovenian anthropologists and archaeologists in Mexico, outlined the present project and underscored the significance of scientific collaboration of Mexican and Slovenian research institutions.

COBISS.SI-ID: 512798848On its 2nd regular meeting held on 16 November 2011, the Senate of the University of Primorska confirmed the application for accreditation of the 2nd cycle joint master programme Latin-American Studies of the acting proposer, the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska, prepared by the Consortium University of Primorska, Slovenia, Megatrend University, Serbia, University of Pecs, Hungary, and University Institute Ortega y Gasset, Spain. The application was sent to the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education for further consideration. M. Terčelj is professional coordinator of the programme. I. Šprajc and M. Terčelj patricipate in the programme with basic topics (Ancient civilizations of Latin America, Ethnographic and Anthropological Studies of Latin America).
D.10 Educational activities
The invited lecture within a round table on the Preclassic period in central Maya Lowlands summarized the data, obtained by archaeological surveys during recent years, on the characteristics of Preclassic sites and settlement patterns in southeastern Campeche, Mexico.
