The invited workshop performed in Belgrade, Serbia at the meeting focused on sciecne education, introduced several experiments appropriate for teaching liquid crystals. Participants were active and have performed experiments by themselves. The workshop was extremely well accepted, several participants established contacts with the authors of the workshop and have tested some of the experiments also with their students.

COBISS.SI-ID: 8982601In the workshop presented at the GIREP conference on physics education in Prague, Czech republik, a teaching unit was presented on students learning about liquid crystals and on the basis of their properties explaining how a liquid crystalline display operates.
B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 9736265The project group performed five workshops and lectures on liquid crystals for various audiences: for public (Science Cafe), for younger gifted students, for university students, for high school teachers and for researchers at the Department for physics. The series of workshops was performed upon invitation of University of Pennsyilvania, US

COBISS.SI-ID: 9853513ILCC is the conference, which is focused on results of academic and applicative research. The community has recently become aware of the importance of the transfer of the academic knowledge to the public and education. The invited talk was focused on the preparation of liquid crystalline samples and simple experiments with them. Academic and applicative research usually requires special techniques, advanced research equipment, clean rooms and similar, which is not available in the lecture room. The talk has shown and discussed several possibilities of overcoming these problems.
