COBISS.SI-ID: 256190720Farming according to the principles of organic production is much less harmful to the environment and in some cases even beneficial to the living creatures. It is not just the prohibition of the use of chemical plant protection agents or synthetic mineral fertilizers but also a constant search for balance in the circulation of energy and matter that make this production more in tune with nature. In Europe, Switzerland is the leading country in organic farming, followed by Austria, Finland, Denmark and Sweden. In Slovenia, organic farming is promoted with various measures directly from the Slovenian agricultural and environmental program.
