In the frame of the project "Internationalisation – a pillar of development of the University of Maribor" the workshop with the title "Green solvents Applied Biocatalysis", which was held on 11. 11. 2014 and 12. 11. 2014 at the University of Maribor, Slomškov trg 15, with the top leading international and Slovene scientists in the field of applied biocatalysis and industrial applications of biocatalysis was organized. On the workshop a contribution of project team from UKC as a lecture was introduced: Aljaž Hojski, Anton Crnjac: 1. Nanotechnology in medicine, 2. The introduction of nanotechnology into clinical practice, which is one of the results of the project.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
Invited lecturer at the advanced course "Supercritical Fluid Technolgy", that took place in the Centre for Analysis ans Synthesis, lund University, Lund, Sweden from the 10th of April to the 11th of May, 2012. Among others immobilization techniques for proteins (also immobilization onto magnetic particles) were introduced and the use of such preparations.

COBISS.SI-ID: 16723734The aim of this work was to determine the toxic effects of prepared chitosan magnetic nanoparticles (CMN) on five different bacterial cultures. For this purpose three Gram negative bacteria were chosen, Escherichia coli as most commonly tested bacteria, Klebsiella pneumoniae because of its cell capsule and Pseudomonas aeruginosa as a nonfermenting bacteria; and two Gram positive bacteria, Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis. Three different methods were used for CMN preparation. Scanning electron microscopy was used to analyze the surface of materials. For toxicity determination of so prepared CMN ATCC standards for all previously mentioned bacteria were used. SEM images showed the roundspheric morphology of CMN and their size varied from 40 to 350 μm.
B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 16878614Stability of free and immobilized enzymes in supercritical carbon dioxide and systems where cosolvnts are used. Activity of enzymes, immobilized onto magnetic nanopartiles was introduced, as well.
