D.10 Educational activities
COBISS.SI-ID: 3524977Dr. Romana Ročic recived Krka Prize for her doctoral thesis, which was prepared under the supervision of prof. dr. Juliana Kristl and cosupervision of assoc. prof. dr. Saša Baumgartner. The PhD thesis is the result of research performed in the scope of the project. It represents a comprehensive knowledge generated in the field of physicochemical characterization of polymer solutions as well as production and final evaluation of the electrospun polymer nanofibres intended for biomedical applications. Scientific findings covered in the scope of the awardwinning PhD thesis were published in 8 articles, namely 7 with an impact factor (5 original scientific and 2 review articles).

COBISS.SI-ID: 3553905In September 2011 4th BBBB-Bled International Conference on Pharmaceutical Sciences took place in Bled. One of its main topics were novelties in the field of drug delivery, including nanocomposites which are the main focus of our project. Conference visited 350 participants from 29 counties. Approximate share of foreign experts was 60%. Our research results were presented at the conference as three poster presentations and published abstracts (COBISS ID 3118961, 3119217, 3119473). Furthermore, prof. dr. Julijana Kristl was the conference president and prof. dr. Saša Baumgartner the conference general secretary, both playing key roles in conference organization and realization. The main goal of the conference was to enable and strengthen scientific cooperation home and abroad between academic researchers and experts in industry. The topics presented at the conference gave or indicated answers to some challenges in modern pharmaceutical development, however, many challenges were let unsolved, representing a driving force for further, even more intense development. Prof. dr. J. Kristl and prof. dr. S. Baumgartner were members of Scientific Comittee of 5th BBBB conference, which was organized in September 2013 in Athens (Greece); prof. J. Kristl was also a member of Scientific Comittee of 10th Central European Symposium on Pharmaceutical Technology (CESPT) and members of the project group, namely prof. S. Baumgartner, prof. M. Gašperlin and prof. O. Planišek, were members of Organizing Comittee of the above mentioned conference, which was organized in September 2014 in Portorož.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3255665Head of the project prof. dr. Juliana Kristl became a member of the editorial board of the journal European Journal of Pharmaceutics and Biopharmaceutics in 2014. The journal provides a medium for publication of novel and innovative research from the areas of Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and Biopharmaceutics. It belongs to the group A1 journals, since it is placed on the 30th place among the 256 journals in the field of "Pharmacology & Pharmacy" and has a relatively high impact factor (IF 4.245).
