This is a book chapter on the economy and the financing of the Slovenian minority in Italy in the book Slovenians in Friuli Venezia Giulia. I am a member of the editorial board of this book, to be published in the next few months ba the Italian scientific publishing house Carrocci. The book represents several years of work of a team of reserachers that tried to provide an overview of the development of the community in the past 30 years and that would represent a logical follow-up of Strain's "The Submerged Community" from the 80s.
