The award for scientific excellence has enabled a comprehensive and contextual research of the structural and functional changes in aesthetics, culture and art that took place with the postmodern turn (in the USA, Europe and globally) and that determine contemporary conditions. The lectures of Polona Tratnik based upon the research done by the scholar so far, especially upon her theory of transart, which is arising along and after the transition from modernity to postmodernity, is exceeding the modern canons, forms and the separation of disciplines and fields, and stimulating critical reflection and resistance.
