COBISS.SI-ID: 50398562The monograph provides a comprehensive overview of the so-called birth of Slovenian national music after D. Cvetko published his history of Slovenian music two decades ago. Darja Koter offers a readable, conceptually transparent and professionally well-balanced view of flow of events that emerged after 1848 to the end of the First World War with a series of fortunate accents. The author brings closer to the reader the otherwise sluggishly perceived national music of the romantic era. The scholar opened up the connection between the work on this project and the widest audience imaginable for musicology in Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 263983616The edition Music and its reference system is the result of cooperation between Slovenian and Austrian musicologists as part of the project as well as beyond. In co-editorships, the book is the first published collection of contributions by scholars at the Department of Musicology Ljubljana, who worked on the project, and Salzburg Department of Musicology at the Mozarteum. The cooperation enables important options of further research for the collaborators of this project in the wider international musicological space.
