Lecture was given at an event organised by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport (Directorate for the Information Society), the aim of which was to stimulate the discussion on possibilities for establishment of digital literacy projects. Presented results point to e-exclusion of the also otherwise socially excluded population segments. This correlation is particularly strong in case of older people with lower income and/or education. Several possible initiatives and measures for encouraging intergenerational cooperation in the field of e-literacy were also presented.

COBISS.SI-ID: 31881565Roundtable’s discussants focussed their debate on the current situation related to e-inclusion and on set targets that are to be achieved by Slovenia according to the Digital Agenda 2015 (and according to most of which we are currently lagging behind). The importance of adults’ digital literacy programmes has also been stressed, as well as the significance of including the e-excluded, particularly older people, unemployed and those socially marginalised.

COBISS.SI-ID: 31881309Radio show highlighted most relevant reasons (factors on individual and structural level) for distinctive lagging of Slovenian older population behind comparable population segments in European countries. In the light of European year of active ageing and intergenerational solidarity different ways of transferring ICT knowledge and ICT-related benefits from younger to older (within family and community settings) were presented.
