In the present paper, the effects of titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles (NPs) on early life stages (embryo, larvae) of zebrafish Danio rerio were studied. The TiO2 NPs proved not to be very toxic to embryos, but at high concentrations aggregates of NPs in test medium affect the development and survival of larvae. This indicates the need for further research into the potential effects of other NPs on the development of fish. The contribution is of both scientific and social importance, since it serves to educate a broader audience on the potential effects of NPs.
