This paper presents the effects of specific environmental factors (i.e., temperature, humidity, and light) on the life expectancy of physical recording media, with an emphasis on optical digital media. In general, a cleaner, cooler, drier, and more stable environment extends the life expectancy, and appropriate protection of individual types of carriers is based on understanding the vulnerability of the carrier and consequently on providing optimal storage conditions and appropriate handling.

The aim of the article is to draw attention to the frequent lack of cooperation between researchers in folklore and literature studies, and to some past inaccuracies, mistakes and errors in folklore research that result from ignoring folkloristic findings. The paper tries to accentuate the locus where interdisciplinary research between folklore and literature studies is not only possible but necessary, especially when identifying and interpreting folklore in literature and literature in folklore.

The CD introduces 28 recordings of folk songs and short instrumental pieces. A selection of recordings represents a diversity of content and sound in folk singing and music tradition in the Adlešiči village; therefor ballads, love, ritual, drinking, and patriotic songs are included. Represented are recordings of folk music from different periods: the first recordings on wax cylinder from 1914, which are very early historical document of Slovenian audio recording, followed by the first sound recordings on tape from 1955 and later recordings, which date back to the present time.
