This study investigated the effects of frequent low-load ischemic resistance exercise performed to failure on quadriceps size and performance, muscle activation, oxygen kinetics and cardiovascular responses. Ten healthy males performed knee-extension exercise for 4 weeks (4 sessions/week) at 15% maximal voluntary muscle contraction (MVC). In conclusion, substantial gains in muscle endurance capacity were induced, which were associated with enhanced muscle oxygen delivery. The potential negative effects of ischemic exercise with high cuff pressure on muscle and nerve and on arterial pressure regulation need further investigation.

We conducted research in order to assess the relation and intensity of the correlation between perceptive abilities and the specific motor abilities of sitting-volleyball players. Our sample consisted of 68 subjects that are the best registered sitting-volleyball players in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The correlation between the variable of efficiency of perceptive processing and the set of variables pertaining to motor abilities has been estimated by means of using Standard Multiple Regression Analysis. The results of the research suggest that there does not exist a correlation between the perceptive and specific motor abilities of sitting-volleyball players.

The paper presents the findings of our study researching the differences in strategies for coping with stress, social support, hassels and uplifts of sport, medical and psychology students at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. It was found that there were no significant differences in strategies for coping with stress between the three groups of students. Significant differences between the groups were found in the number of uplifts and hassles, but not in the mean of both variables. Sport students had less social support compared with the other two groups of students, but the difference between actual and ideal social support is not significant.
