We hav studied the importance of early ogical signs for the recognition of later developmental problems during infancy. Amiel-Tison and Gosslein described three minor neurological signs. Infants were classified according to the level of these minor neurological signs. We found that such classification enabled us to recognize early those infants who will have later developmental problems.

Studies including general movements (GM) confirmed the usefulness of such technique for recognition of infants who will develop motor problems later during life, however there are no much studies done to correlate GM with later cognitive problems. We have identified those infants, by using GM in newborn and early infantile period, who correlate well with abnormal GM and later abnormal results of cognitivive functions (assessed by Bayley II).
