We have studied a small group of preterm children at birth and on follow-up at toddler age. We used Amiel-Tison neurological assessment and the assessment of general movements was done and compared them with the criterion measure Bayley Scales of Infant Development – II. Children from the preterm group attained lower results on the developmental test compared to normative data. These findings suggest that children from less optimal category of neurological examination had lower developmental scores.
