This paper describes analysis of the pulse width modulated single-phase inverter output voltage. By using the over-modulation principle the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the output voltage increases due to low harmonic spectrum, but yet output voltage first harmonic is also increased. The root mean square (RMS) component of the output voltage therefore increases. Due to this phenomenon the dc converter input voltage can be decreased, which is always welcome.

This paper describes a thermal analysis of the half-bridge IGBT power module. Power module provides an easy way to cool the other devices, which are involved with the system. Therefore, it is widely used in all branches of industry. Power modules are usually fixed to the heat sink, which provides the better cooling of the device. Heat sink is usually made of aluminium and it is attached to the bottom side of the power module. Analyzed power module is designed for currents up to 200 A of the RMS value. This particular power module is made upon Direct Copper Bonding (DCB) technology.
