The algorithms for eMPC active region selection and for the Kalman filter have been adapted for use in the form of function blocks in the IDR Blok (Inea d.o.o.) development environment for programming of industrial programmable logic controllers (PLC). They were tested on pilot plant PN3 in two configurations, using a Mitsubishi MELSEC Q06 PLC. In practice, the algorithms facilitate more efficient process regulation in operating points in the vicinity of process constraints, which is achieved by more aggressive responses to disturbances which could violate the constraints in the predicted courses of process signals.

The Performance Monitor comprises the algorithms for detection and assessment of the following events and features in a closed-loop control system: overshoot, settling time, IAE/ISE/ITAE/ITSE cost functions at a stepwise change of the reference signal; noise standard deviation; oscillation.
