The project leader had invited lecture at the conference organized by a renowned Indian University Mathma Gandhi. The state of the art in the field of surface superhydrophilicity phenomena was presented in respect to different surface treatment methods. The advantages of plasma treatments were shown as a quick route to design required surface properties as well as apply them for e.g. better adhesion of galvanic deposited metals or nanoparticles dispersion in the polymer matrix compared to other techniques.

COBISS.SI-ID: 25339175The group of co-workers from the Department F4 JSI successfully organized 4th International Conference on Advanced Plasma Technologies and 112th IUVSTA Executive Council Meeting. Organization of the conference enabled promotion of Slovenian science and recognition of scientific excellence of Slovenian researchers. The topic of the conference was application of plasma technologies in industrial environment. In the frame of the conference many of project collaborators presented their results from the field of plasma surface treatments of polymer materials, composites and metals.

COBISS.SI-ID: 257634560In the frame of the project, we build a new laboratory-size plasma system which enables preparation of sample surfaces with combination of different frequency discharges or their modes. With this principle, we can tailor the densities of neutral and charged plasma species in the system. This also enables better control and in-situ monitoring of plasma surface treatment processes.
