On the basis of international cooperation and achievements in the field of magnetic refrigeration International Institute of Refrigeration (IIRIIF) has entrusted us to the co-organize the Fourth International Conference on Magnetic Refrigeration at Room Temperature (Thermag IV), held between 23 and 27 of August, 2010 at Baotou Research Institute of Rare Earths, China. In the Thermag IV Conference doc.dr. Kitanovsk was also the co-editor of the conference proceeding.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11513883One-dimensional, dynamic numerical model was developed in order to study in details the operation of an active magnetic regenerator (AMR). The model can be employed to analyze a wide range of operating conditions, different AMR geometries, different magnetocaloric materials and heat transfer fluids, layered and single bed AMR, etc. This paper presents an optimization of the AMR geometry, where the AMR consists of a packed bed of spheres of Gadolinium. The optimization of the mass flow rate and the operating frequency of the AMR was performed by studying five different diameters of Gd spheres.
