Number of grid tight photovoltaic power plants is increasing. They normally operate connected to the low surge impedance distribution network. However, when they are connected to the high surge impedance distribution network they could cause problems. The converter and photovoltaic power plant control algorithms introduce subharmonic components in the currents causing also subharmonic components in voltages. They all together increase losses related with the power transmission. The impact of photovoltaic power plants on distribution network is evaluated in the time and in the frequency domain.

COBISS.SI-ID: 14707222The performance of capacitor-run and capacitor-start versions of the single-phase induction motor and the line-start interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSIPMSM) with the equal unsymmetrical stator winding is directly compared based on evaluation of experimental data. The motors were constructed of equal materials and employed the equal squirrel-cage. It is shown that the LSIPMSM’s efficiency and power factor are significantly higher.
