The basic problem of manufacturing is how to assure stable determined output (on-time delivery of products and services) out of stochastic input (orders) in a turbulent environment (market, competition) and with frequent inside and outside disturbances (machine malfunctions, late deliveries of materials). This work presents the research into the next generation manufacturing systems and the concept of autonomous work systems.

COBISS.SI-ID: 11626011The main aim of the inovation is to enable remote surveillance and control of small hydropower plants (SHP). Its goal is to increase the efficiency and availability of SHPs and to manage the negative influences of SHPs on the environment. The innovation's core functions were identified with a survey among SHP owners and operators. The inovation integrates classic and mobile information communication techonologies in connection with state of the art sensoring, measurement, computer, and software technologies. Together, they enable higher flexibility and lower cost of the system.
