Microtremors method was applied as prospecting method for mapping the thickness of soft sediments in the Ljubljana Moor. First, measurements were performed at locations of 53 boreholes which reached the bedrock and the inverse power relationship between the resonance frequency and the thickness of sediments determined. Secondly, a 16 km-long seismic refraction profile was measured. The results of microtremor measurements were first validated and then used for interpolation. By this we confirmed that this method, which is faster than established methods, is very successful.

We used GPS to measure rates of active tectonic deformation in the Adria- Eurasia collision zone. We quantified the kinematics of the Adria microplate, and have for the first time used GPS data from the outcrops of Adria in Istria penninsula. We determined the direction and rates of active tectonic motions in the territory of Slovenia, and estimated slip rates on major regional faults.
