COBISS.SI-ID: 23835943Some wulfenite crystals from Mezica mine implied lower tetragonal-pyramidal symmetry (I4/a). Our HRTEM and micro-diffraction study of morphologically hemimorphic wulfenites from the Doroteja locality confirmed the acentric tetragonal pyramidal symmetry, which is not known in wulfenite! Our single crystal X-ray diffraction studies showed that the main reason for hemimorphism is chemical ordering of Mo on Pb sites. This gives rise to inversion (racemic) twinning of the structure, which in macroscopically manifested as Doroteja-Law twinning described in the recent book on Mežica (2010).
