The chapter discusses development of Slovenian social/cultural anthropology as manifoldly marginal: in specific Slovene circumstances and studying contemporary cultural phenomena; in distinction to predominant studies of traditions and past in non-European world. The author opposes the dominant Western model of anthropology in the frame of postsocialist tendencies and proposes post-colonial punk anthropology. This is the first edited volume by social/cultural anthropologists from so far ignored post-socialist part of Europe and will shape further development of the discipline.
