In contemporary secularist culture, a worldview is seen as a negative obstacle to a dialog because it is regarded as a particular view. Therefore, the renunciation of a worldview is a condition that allows for dialog to happen. This renunciation leads to two extreme positions: secularist relativism and fundamentalist absolutism. However a worldview is the formation for a dialog. The dialog is a kind of thinking that operates as the broadening of horizons and the deepening of personal identity.

The classical Islamic teaching does not expect women to actively participate in the jihad even though already in early Islam there existed women warriors. As reported, they were respected and not reproached therefor. Nevertheless, women were not expected to behave like men, as it can be seen by the lack of a uniform standpoint concerning the socalled mutarajjulat’s. Nowadays the opinion prevails that in the classical period of Islam women were expected to be mothers, to supply sons and to support the mujahid. On the other hand, now we see that this was not quite so.
