In the lecture, two main issues were exposed: firstly, how agricultural and rural policy of the EU deals with and affects the status of women in rural areas in the new member states and secondly, whether farm women benefit from the joining Slovenia to the EU or not. On the basis of some preliminary investigation, the authoress argues that more systematic research on farm women/men and evaluation of development programmes’ implementation is necessary on national and the EU level.

COBISS.SI-ID: 6539897The paper (co-authoresses Novak Tatjana and Lilijana Šprah) presented the application of Slovenian Quality of life questionnaire (QOL) and its association with socio-demographic (age, status, employment, education, number of household members) and clinical factors (type and duration of mood disorders, duration of remission). Diminished QOL was associated in both groups with higher age, with unemployment and with fewer members of household, whereas in the clinical group also with longer remission and reduced extent of depressive episodes.
