In the first part of the text, important socio-political factors are presented that affected the Porabje/Raba region of Hungary in the period of the Rákosi regime (stressing the Hungarian-Yugoslav relations), and which led to the deportations of Slovene families from the border region. The central part of the text deals with the course of deportations, the life in camps and the circumstances upon the return home after the closing of camps in 1953.
