Article investigates the impact of the EU membership on party politics in Slovenia. Since independence and until full membership in 2004 the EU has played a side role in party politics in Slovenia. However, the situation has remained similar afterwards as EU issues do not directly influence inter-party competition. They have held particular salience for national politics but little salience for party one. The analysis showed that the influence of the EU in party politics relates mainly to two factors: the governmental position of a party and its representation in the European Parliament.

This book is focused on the forms and contents of parliamentary decision-making procedures. It supplements the already existing analysis, considering at the same time the procedural changes in the new Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly and actual experiences of some international practices, parliamentary traditions, cultures, oral rules of conduct of the deputies, deputy groups, parliamentary leadership and other relevant indicators, including the policy contexts.
