The article deals with personality characteristics of entrepreneurs and their role in the firm-start up. General personality characteristics (the big five personality factors) and specific personality characteristics (need for achievement, internal locus of control, need for independence, risk taking propensity, entrepreneurial self-efficacy) are presented as personality foundations of firm start-ups.
