The paper analyses the role of National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia in the last two decades in ensuring gender equal opportunities in decision making processes. After the examination and analysis of the institutional changes, after the adoption of some important laws and legislative solutions as quotas and after the examination of the data on the position of women and men in politics author comes to the conclusion that position of women and men significantly differs and that National Assembly stays the place where women’s come through is still the heaviest.
