This book is not about the Open Method of Coordination (OMC) per se. Rather, it examines OMC practices as they are perceived and implemented in a particular EU member state: Slovenia. Thus, OMC processes are studied in a real-life environment, where national policy actors are simultaneously involved in a multitude of concurrent international policy cooperation processes. Furthermore, the particular OMC and OMC-type processes are placed in the context of their historical policy setting and in the context of the extent of Slovenia`s involvement both in EU`s hard and soft policy-making.
